Founder's Note
"I love what I do — and it shows."
My name is Dorrian Ross, M.Ed., and I am the Founder and Executive Director of Destiny on the Move Outreach. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and am a certified educator with a master's degree. I currently serve as an educator with the School District of Philadelphia, where I am committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Service has always been at the heart of who I am. From a young age, I found joy in giving back to my community and encouraging young people to recognize their potential. As I grew, so did my ability to make a greater impact. What began through volunteering, mentoring, and serving with nonprofit organizations has evolved into leading my own nonprofit, where I have the privilege of empowering youth and families every day.
Dance has been a lifelong passion and one of the greatest influences in my personal journey. While I dedicated countless hours to dance, I also remained committed to academic excellence. Dance became more than a hobby; it was my healthy outlet, my source of confidence, my discipline, and a space where I learned resilience, leadership, teamwork, and perseverance. The lessons I gained through the performing arts helped shape my success both inside and outside the classroom.
Those experiences inspired the vision behind Destiny on the Move Outreach. I believe every young person deserves access to opportunities that nurture both their talents and their character. My mission is to instill in today's youth the same confidence, discipline, and determination that dance and education instilled in me. Through mentorship, performing arts, educational support, workshops, and community outreach, I strive to help young people discover their purpose, believe in themselves, and develop the skills they need to succeed in every area of life.
Simply put, I love what I do, and that passion is reflected in every program, every partnership, and every life we have the privilege to impact.
